Hi @Billiejean3,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP printer might be experiencing a firmware or hardware issue. Here are some steps you can take to try to resolve this:
Unplug the Printer:
- Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
Check the Power Source:
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer.
Restart the Printer:
- Try to turn on the printer again by pressing the power button.
- If the power button still keeps flashing and the printer doesn't turn off, proceed to the next step.
Check for Firmware Updates:
- If you can get the printer to turn on, check for any available firmware updates. This can often resolve software-related issues.
- You can usually check for firmware updates via the printer's control panel or through the HP Smart app.
Reset the Printer:
- If the printer has a reset option, try performing a factory reset. The process for this can vary depending on the model, so refer to your printer's user manual for specific instructions.
Remove and Reinstall Ink Cartridges:
- Turn off the printer (if possible).
- Open the printer and remove the ink cartridges.
- Reinstall the ink cartridges and try turning the printer on again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
