Hi @aAronmh2006,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Pavilion 16-inch Laptop PC 16-af0000 (954R8AV) is not detecting any audio output devices, which is often due to a disabled or missing audio driver. Here’s how you can troubleshoot and resolve this issue:
1. Check Device Manager
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
- If you don’t see any audio device listed or see a yellow triangle, your driver may be missing or corrupted.
2. Run HP’s Audio Troubleshooter
HP provides a dedicated guide for this issue: 👉 HP PCs - A "No audio device is installed" message displays | HP® Support
This guide walks you through:
- Enabling the audio device
- Running the Windows sound troubleshooter
- Updating or reinstalling the audio driver
3. Use HP Support Assistant
- Download or open HP Support Assistant from here: HP Support Assistant | HP® Support.
- Go to Fixes & Diagnostics > Audio Check.
- Follow the on-screen steps to test and repair audio issues.
4. Update Audio Drivers
- Visit the HP Software and Drivers page.
- Enter your product: HP Pavilion 16-af0000.
- Download and install the latest Realtek or AMD audio drivers listed.
I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
