Microsoft Windows 11

When I try to pair my sony headphones to my Windows 11 laptop, my headphones do not show up in the devices when trying to add. I have clicked show all as well and that did not show it either. They are in range and in pairing mode and everything I try I cannot find a way to get them connected.

@Aurose, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds frustrating to not be able to connect your Sony headphones to your Windows 11 laptop. Here’s a series of troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Ensure Bluetooth is Enabled

Turn on Bluetooth: Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & devices. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled.

Check the Bluetooth Icon: The Bluetooth icon should be visible in the taskbar if it's working properly.

Make Sure Your Headphones are in Pairing Mode

Headphones in Pairing Mode: Make sure the headphones are in the correct pairing mode. For many Sony headphones, this is usually done by holding down the power button until the indicator light starts blinking (often blue or alternating red/blue).

No Other Devices Connected: If your headphones are already connected to another device, they won’t pair with your laptop. Make sure they are not connected to any other device (like a phone or tablet).

Update Bluetooth Drivers

Check for Driver Updates: Go to Device Manager > Bluetooth and find your Bluetooth adapter. Right-click it and select Update driver. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software to make sure the Bluetooth drivers are up to date.

Reinstall Drivers: If updating doesn’t work, you can also try uninstalling the Bluetooth driver and rebooting your system to reinstall it automatically.

Remove Previous Pairings

Forget Existing Devices: In Bluetooth & devices, if your headphones show up (even if they are not connected), click on them and select Remove device. Then, try pairing them again.

Try Pairing Manually

Add Bluetooth Device Manually: Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Add device. Click on Bluetooth, then wait for your headphones to show up in the list. If they don’t, try clicking Show All again.

Test Bluetooth Functionality

Try Pairing Other Devices: Check if you can pair other Bluetooth devices (like a phone, speaker, etc.) with your laptop. This will help you confirm if the issue is with the Bluetooth on your laptop or with the headphones.

Run Bluetooth Troubleshooter

Built-in Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters. Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter and follow any suggested fixes.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
