I just lost my sound input and output devices on a HP Envy laptop running Windows 11.

Are you getting any sound to speakers or headphones?
Here is Microsoft's general help for audio problems

Does the device manager show any problems like a red "X" ?

Bring up the sound mixer and set the audio to the graphics device if using HDMI or to the speaker system.

for example.
