Hi @vihavivek,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're experiencing audio problems on your HP laptop. You might need to update or reinstall your audio drivers. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you resolve the issue:

Step 1: Update Windows

  1. Connect your laptop to the internet.
  2. Go to the Start Menu and click on Settings.
  3. Navigate to Update & Security.
  4. Select Windows Update and click on Check for updates.

Step 2: Use HP Support Assistant

  1. Open HP Support Assistant from the Start Menu or the taskbar if it's already visible.
HP Support Assistant | HP® Support

  2. Once launched, go to the Support page and select Updates at the bottom of the My devices screen. This will check for any available driver updates specific to your device.

Step 3: Use Device Manager

  1. Right-click on the Start Menu and select Device Manager.
  2. In the Device Manager, expand the Sound, video, and game controllers section.
  3. Right-click on your audio device (e.g., Realtek High Definition Audio) and select Update Driver Software.
  4. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

Step 4: Reinstall the Audio Driver

  1. If updating drivers does not work, you can choose to uninstall the driver by right-clicking on the audio device and selecting Uninstall device.
  2. Restart your laptop, and Windows will attempt to reinstall the audio driver automatically.

Step 5: Check Audio Settings

  1. Right-click on the sound icon in the taskbar and select Open Sound settings.
  2. Ensure the correct playback device is selected under "Choose your output device".

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
