Thanks for trying.

I have tried most Real tek drivers but no success.

Currently the SST Audio Controller in device manager is fine but the SST OED has a yellow triangle and it this that is stopping the audio. Just can't get past it and unfortunately it seems firmware related unless someone knows differently

But thanks anyway

Hello @teh10261

Thank you for sharing the details about the SST Audio Controller and the yellow triangle on the SST OED entry in Device Manager. I understand how discouraging it feels when the controller appears fine but the endpoint driver blocks audio output.

You’ve already shown great care in testing multiple Realtek drivers, and I appreciate the persistence.

Here are some steps you can try to move past the SST OED error:

1. Remove and reinstall Intel Smart Sound Technology (SST)

  • Open Device Manager → System Devices.
  • Right‑click “Intel Smart Sound Technology (Intel SST) Audio Controller” → Uninstall device.
  • Check “Delete the driver software for this device.”
  • Restart your laptop.
  • Windows Update should automatically reinstall the Intel SST driver.

2. Install Intel SST driver manually

3. Re‑apply Realtek driver after SST is stable

  • Once Intel SST shows without warnings, install the Realtek High Definition Audio driver (SP160248 or newer) from the same page.
  • Restart and check Playback devices for Bang & Olufsen speakers.

4. Use Windows Update optional drivers

  • Go to Settings → Windows Update → Advanced options → Optional updates.
  • Install any audio‑related updates, especially Intel or Realtek packages.

5. Confirm audio endpoint

  • In Device Manager, expand “Sound, video and game controllers.”
  • Ensure “Realtek High Definition Audio” appears without warnings.
  • If missing, repeat the Realtek installation after Intel SST is corrected.

Because the BIOS page for your Pavilion only lists F.30 and F.32, firmware updates beyond that are not currently available. The best path is to stabilize the Intel SST driver first, then layer the Realtek driver on top. This sequence usually clears the yellow triangle on the OED entry and restores audio output.

Thank you so much for all of your support.

I now have sound through my speakers!!

I tried deleting both of the SST drivers and restarting but both reinstalled as before i.e. SST Audio Controller seemed to install normally but the SST OED entry still had a yellow triangle and I had no sound.

So I tried just deleting the SST OED entry and rebooting and this worked. It reinstalled properly and the speakers now have sound. Thanks again for all your help and hopefully this thread may help others with similar problems.

You are very Welcome @teh10261

I’m glad to hear your speakers are working again — that must feel like such a relief after all the effort you put in. Thank you for sharing the exact steps you tried; removing the SST OED entry and letting Windows reinstall it was a smart way to clear the driver conflict.

It’s great that you documented your process — it can definitely help others facing similar sound issues.

Thanks again for your confirmation, and we wish you an amazing day ahead! 😊
