HP ENVY 17 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I was having problems with my Audio having a wave to it. The volume would lower and raise periodically while using it through my external speakers. I tried all kinds of fixes and nothing ever worked. One of the fixes i tried was removing the Beats Audio and now I would like to put it  back on.  I watched a youtube video to remove it. It no longer shows that it exists anywhere on my laptop.  I want to put it back on because the sound quality was better at least. I'm sure i need a new sound card but still want my Beats back. Can anyone please tell me how to get Beats Audio back on this laptop. I have updated to Windows 10.

 Thank you

Hi,

Download and reinstall the IDT HD Audio software package on the following link - this should also provide the Beats gui.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp63501-64000/sp63555.exe

When the reinstallation has completed, restart the notebook and let Windows fully load for a few minutes.

Open windows Control Panel and in the top right, next to View by: select 'Large Icons'.  From the new layout, check if the Beats icon is now present.

Hi,

Can you post back with the full Model No. and Product No. of your Envy 17 series notebook - you can usually get this by holding down the fn key and pressing esc, otherwise see Here for a guide on locating this information.

HP ENVY 17 Notebook PC  Product # E0K86UA#ABA . I don't know what series it is. I have a serial number. I did get (IDT high definition audio back on. I don't see anything that says Beat Audio though. Are these the same thing?
