Hello, I have 2 Hp laptop one is elitebook 840 with combo audio jack, i want to connect mic in it and record voice and hear it through laptop speakers, but my one is when i connect mic then laptop speakers stop working and it trying to send audio through that jack and i am seeing no option to use this jack only for one thing mic not for speakers.
i am using windows 10 please help me guys

On many machines with combo jack, they do not support stand alone microphone. Some members use Y splitter but the chance is 50/50
