Envy Laptop 17-cg1000 series
Microsoft Windows 11

I have a friend with an Envy Laptop. It's only about 3 years old (I think) and was recently upgraded to Windows 11 (from Windows 10). The problem is now that the internal microphone does not seem to work when using local apps (i.e. Zoom, Camera, etc.) It does seem to work when using websites. In the apps, the internal microphone is the system default, which is the only option. All the settings appear to be correct, but it's just not working. I don't know for a fact that this problem started to occur as a result of the Windows 11 upgrade, but it does appear to have happened around the same time. All other Microsoft & HP updates have been applied, so it's complete up-to-date.

I'm guessing (hoping) this must be a common, known problem for which there is a fix. Any ideas/suggestions, etc? If any other specific informaiton is needed, I will gladly supply it. Thank you in advance.😊
