I am trying to use zoom but can't get my microphone to work. I have spent 8 hours trying different diagnostics. Nothing shows as problematic. The only thing I notice is the Beats Audio Control show the speaker and microphone array as in use even tho nothing is using it. Please help

Hi @lapus123,m
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Microphone Settings in Windows
Open Sound Settings:
- Right-click the sound icon in the system tray and select Open Sound settings.
- Under the Input section, ensure the correct microphone is selected (Microphone Array).
- Check the volume level to ensure it is not muted.
Test Microphone:
- Click on Device properties.
- Select Additional device properties.
- Go to the Levels tab and ensure the microphone is not muted and the volume is set to an adequate level.
Update Audio Drivers
Update Drivers:
- Open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start button.
- Expand the Sound, video and game controllers section.
- Right-click the audio driver (likely under Realtek High Definition Audio or similar) and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
Check HP Website for Specific Drivers:
- Visit the HP Support website.
- Enter your laptop model (HP Pavilion 15-eg0073cl) and download the latest audio drivers.
Configure Beats Audio Control
Open Beats Audio Control:
- Open the Beats Audio Control panel from the system tray or through the Windows Start menu.
- Check if the microphone settings within Beats Audio are correctly configured.
Disable Beats Enhancement:
- Sometimes audio enhancement features can interfere with proper microphone functionality.
- Disable any audio enhancements related to the microphone in the Beats Audio Control panel.
Test Microphone in Another Application
- Voice Recorder:
- Open the Windows Voice Recorder app and try recording a brief message.
- If the microphone works in Voice Recorder, the issue might be specific to Zoom.
I hope this helps.
