Yesterday, I used to Avast Driver Updater to update over 100 drivers on my laptop. Somehow in the mix, my internal audio is now gone. Thankfully, my Bluetooth headset works fine. I tried factory resetting, nothing happened. Please help,

Did you do a CLEAN install as mentioned on my previous reply ? What is the end result ? It should have Realtek as shown

Please do a clean install Audio software/driver, this should help.

   (a) Download the following driver and save on your computer,
                 https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp105501-106000/sp105738.exe

   (b) Go to Device Manager, Sound to uninstall sound driver (Realtek) and reboot,
   (c) Right click downloaded file and select Run as administrator,
   (d) Reboot again.

Regards.

The only audio options still in the device manager are of my Bluetooth headset. Nothing happened with the download to resurrect Realtek sadly.

Is there any error from device manager ? Please try to restore default sound using following steps

(a) Right click speaker icon,

(b) Select Open Sound settings,

(c) Select Manage Sound devices

(d) How many on the list ? Select the one as default.

Regards

I thought a clean install and factory reset were the same thing. So, I google clean install and did one. The volume is back! Thank you for everything!
