A few days ago, the video on my laptop began to buffer when I was viewing some anime. After approximately five minutes of sitting there, it wouldn't go on playing, so I shut it off to check my internet connection. There is a little symbol in the lower right corner that depicts a monitor next to an Ethernet cord that has a red X over it. The message "Not connected - No connections are available" appears when I hover over the symbol. I looked up the problem on Google and tried all the solutions I could find. Driver updates, driver uninstallations, different command prompt commands, network troubleshooters, malware and virus scans, turning off firewalls and antivirus software, etc. Nothing has been successful. I assumed my network adapter would be the issue, however the Device Manager claims it is operating correctly. In addition to the network issue, it takes a lot longer to load up and I can't access any internet-dependent apps like League of Legends or Google Chrome.
With the exception of an erratic blue screen crash a few weeks ago, my laptop has been operating flawlessly for the past year. If the specifications are of any use, I do not know the model number, but they are as follows: This URL, http://qrq.itcs.hp.com/m/V0Q01UAABA/qr.do, is not accessible.
I would be grateful for any assistance. This computer is essentially worthless in the absence of an internet connection.
