HP ENVY x360 - 15t Convertible PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have HP ENVY 360 and recently I am having trouble doing video calls or any sorts of calls from my laptop. It always asks for the access, I tried changing settings and it shows both camera and microphone has access but it does not work. It's been more than two weeks , I cannot call from my laptop through any of the media like messenger, or google hangout. I use google chrome for everything if that would help for anything.

Recently it stopped asking access for camera but asks for microphone and I can never make a call as it says hardware error. Please help! Thank you!

I am trying to do video calls on Messenger and my LP continues to tell me it needs access to my microphone.  I have all of this set up and allowed but it still won't allow me to connect.  Can anyone help me address this?

@DAT52 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are unable to access the camera and microphone.

Not to worry, I will be glad to help.

Click here to download the webcam software which includes the driver for Windows 10.

Uninstall the youcam software from your computer.

Restart your computer.

Install the download webcam software and check.

For other troubleshooting steps please refer to this HP Article

To check the microphone, right-click on the speaker icon on the taskbar and select recording devices.

Once you have the recording devices window open. Tap on the microphone and check if the bars move.

You can also refer to this HP Article to troubleshoot issues with a microphone.
