HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-fcooo
Microsoft Windows 11

I'm trying to again link my Oticon hearing aids to my laptop, one that I confirmed supported LE Audio when I bought it.  I have in the past been able to blue tooth the hearing aids to the laptop, but now it won't connect.  I get the warning message that LE audio isn't supported, so I checked Windows version and updated the drivers.  It still isn't recognized.  Any suggestions so I don't have to buy the Oticon Easy LE Adaptor for $100?

Hi @JohnRM1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I understand that you were previously able to connect your Oticon hearing aids to your HP 15.6-inch Laptop PC 15-fc0000 using Bluetooth, but Windows is now reporting that LE Audio isn't supported, even after updating Windows and the drivers.

Let's check a few things before considering an additional adapter.

  1. In Windows 11, select Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices.
  2. Under Device settings, look for Use LE Audio when available.
  3. If the option is available, make sure it is turned on. Microsoft confirms that this setting should be present on a Windows 11 PC when LE Audio is currently supported.
  4. If the Oticon hearing aids are already listed under Bluetooth devices, remove them and then try pairing them again according to the Oticon pairing instructions.
  5. Please also install any available Bluetooth and audio driver updates specifically for your HP model.

For LE Audio to work, Windows requires compatible Bluetooth LE hardware, a compatible audio codec, and LE Audio-capable drivers for both the Bluetooth radio and audio codec. Having Bluetooth LE by itself does not necessarily mean that LE Audio is available.

Since you mentioned that LE Audio previously worked, could you also let us know:

  • The exact Product Number of the notebook. Please don't post the Serial Number publicly.
  • Your Windows version, for example 23H2, 24H2, or 25H2.
  • Whether LE Audio, when available, currently appears under Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices.
  • The exact model of the Oticon hearing aids.
  • Whether the hearing aids still connect normally to another compatible device.

The HP 15.6-inch Laptop PC 15-fc0000 family has multiple configurations, so I don't want to confirm or rule out LE Audio support without first identifying your exact Product Number. HP's support page itself requests the Product Number to correctly identify the system.

If the Windows LE Audio option is present and the correct HP Bluetooth/audio drivers are installed, but the hearing aids alone still will not connect, I would then recommend checking with Oticon Technical Support as well. LE Audio has to be supported by both the PC and the hearing device, and the hearing-device manufacturer can confirm the required pairing method and compatibility for your specific Oticon model.

Please let us know what you find, particularly whether Use LE Audio when available is still present.

Take care and have a good day.
