Check in Device Manager to see if a driver is missing for the audio devices.  Also check in the "Sound" settings of the "System" section of Windows settings.  Run though the testing routines, after verifying all of the drivers in Device Manager are installed properly.

Dear sir, I have tried these methods too but my problem is not resolving. I am very worried about it. I don't think that there is a hardware prblem bcoz I m getting fine volume for system sounds. My problem is only for audio and video playing and on youtube.

Since this is a laptop, there is another place where the volume can be controlled.  It is seen as #4 in this picture

The only other recommendation would be to visit the HP support page

According to the spec page that unit came with FreeDos, since it now has Windows, I still think it is a driver problem.  Try looking at the audio drivers, checking to see if Microsoft loaded a different driver than the ones listed at the about link.  Pick one or the other and install to replace the driver Windows chose.
