Welcome to HP Support Community, @SAModi

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

A. Preliminary Checks

Ensure the camera and microphone are not physically covered, taped, or blocked.

Remove all external devices:

Headsets, Bluetooth audio, external speakers, USB webcams.

Test again using laptop’s internal audio and built-in camera.

B. System Permissions
Camera Access

Open: Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera

Confirm:

Camera Access = ON

App Access is allowed for the required applications.

Microphone Access (important for audio calls/recording)

Open: Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone

Confirm:

Microphone Access = ON

App Access is allowed.

C. Device Verification (Device Manager)

Open: Windows Device Manager

Verify under:

Cameras → Laptop camera should be listed without warning or error.

Sound, video and game controllers → Audio driver should be present.

If warning/error is displayed:

3. Right-click → Uninstall
4. Select "Delete the driver if available"
5. Restart laptop.

D. Driver Updates

From Windows Device Manager:

Right-click Camera/Audio driver → Update driver → Search automatically.

If not resolved:

Visit laptop manufacturer’s support page.

Download the latest Audio and Camera drivers for the exact laptop model.

Install and restart laptop.

E. Audio Output Test

Click the speaker icon on the taskbar.

Confirm the correct output device is selected:

Example: Speakers (not Bluetooth or HDMI unless intentionally used).

Set volume: 50–80%

Play any audio file to test.

F. Camera Test

Open the system Camera app.

If camera works here but not in a specific app:

Update or reinstall the affected application.

Common apps to verify:

Disconnect/reconnect in Zoom

Check device settings in Microsoft Teams

G. System Updates

Open: Settings → Windows Update → Check for updates

Install all pending updates.

BIOS update:

Only update if recommended in official release notes for audio/camera fixes.

H. Run Troubleshooters
Audio

Settings → System → Sound → Troubleshoot

Camera
2. Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters → Camera

I. If Still Not Resolved
Possible causes:

Corrupted drivers

App compatibility conflict

Internal hardware malfunction (camera module, mic array, audio IC, related component)

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
