Try these steps:
Check Volume Levels
Adjust Volume Settings:
- Click the speaker icon in the taskbar and ensure the volume is turned up.
- Use the keyboard shortcut Fn + speaker volume up key to adjust the volume.
Check Application Volume:
- Open the Volume Mixer by right-clicking the speaker icon and selecting Open Volume mixer.
- Ensure the volume levels for all applications and system sounds are turned up.
Update Audio Drivers
Via Device Manager:
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand the Sound, video and game controllers section.
- Right-click your audio device (e.g., Realtek High Definition Audio) and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
Via HP Support:
- Visit the HP Support website and enter your laptop model (HP ENVY Laptop PC 14-eb0000).
- Download and install the latest audio drivers available.
Run Audio Troubleshooter
- Using Windows Troubleshooter:
- Type troubleshoot in the Windows search bar and select Troubleshoot settings.
- Scroll down and select Additional troubleshooters.
- Find and run the Playing Audio troubleshooter.
Check Audio Enhancements
- Disable Audio Enhancements:
- Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select Sounds.
- Go to the Playback tab, select your audio device, and click Properties.
- Under the Enhancements tab, check the box for Disable all enhancements.
Update BIOS
- Update BIOS:
- Visit the HP Support website and enter your laptop model.
- Download and update your BIOS to the latest version available.
