Starting today, my laptop has been making a very loud, high-pitched noise everytime I try to use anything that has audio. I've tried everything I can think of or find online to fix this issue, but to no avail. The sound comes from the right speaker specifically and it doesn't make this noise when using a different source for audio, such as headphones. The sound also starts when the laptop turns on after rebooting.

I understand that your Laptop making a loud, high-pitched noise. I'd like to help!
Let's do a hard reset:
Ensure your laptop is OFF. Unplug all the external devices (If any).
Disconnect the power charger from the computer.
Press and hold the power and the mute button for about 30 seconds.
Connect the power supply (power adapter).
Press the power button to turn on your laptop.
Let's perform the test:
- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.
- Click Component Test>Audio>Speaker.
- Click Run once, or Loop until error.
While the test is running, the time remaining and test results for each component is displayed on the screen.
If a component fails a test, write down the failure ID (24-digit code) for when you respond back to us.
