ENVY x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop is not recognizing any audio output devices that I plug into the headset port. Sound will come though the device but the mic on the device becomes very weak (won't pick up sound well). When I open sound settings, the output device is still the internal speakers and no other devices are listen in the dropdown menu. Same for the mic.

For bluetooth devices, the "output device" does change but the mic will hardly pick up any sound just like with the  corded devices. After a few minutes, the sound coming through the bluetooth device will become staticky and eventually cut out altogether. After disconnecting the buletooth device, sound will often not resume through the internal speakers.

All of these audio devices work perfectly fine on other products.

@ASeth

What is your HP Envy x360 ? From my understanding all Envy x360 machines don't have AUX port. Nearly all of them have headphones/microphone combo port. And many of them do not support standalone microphone.

Which device do you plug to your machine and plug to where ?

Regards.

You're right, not an AUX port. I guess it would be called a headset port? Wherever a standard set of corded headphones would be plugged in.

I am plugging in standard corded headphones.
