I own an HP Envy Laptop running windows 10 64 bit. I am unable to play music through the Bluetooth connections. Settings show paired/connected but music still plays out of laptop speakers. I have removed and set up devices, checked for and downloaded drivers, switched off and on several times, checked airplane mode is off and Bluetooth and wireless on. This has all worked in the past so I'm guessing an update somewhere has interrupted the connections. Having checked the devices individually and all are noted as working correctly!
I am at a loss so HELP please!

Hi @Reallyfedup1,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you've already taken several troubleshooting steps to address the Bluetooth connectivity issue on your HP Envy Laptop. Since you've checked the basic settings, drivers, and connections,
Here are a few more advanced steps you can try:
Restart Bluetooth Support Service:
- Press Win + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
- Look for "Bluetooth Support Service" in the list.
- Right-click on it and select Restart.
Update Bluetooth Drivers:
- Visit the HP website and make sure you have the latest Bluetooth drivers for your laptop model.
- Install any available updates.
Check Power Management Settings:
- Sometimes, power-saving settings can interfere with Bluetooth functionality. Go to Device Manager > Bluetooth > (Your Bluetooth device) > Properties > Power Management, and ensure that "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is unchecked.
Reset Bluetooth Settings:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
- Under "Related settings," click on "More Bluetooth options."
- In the Bluetooth Settings window, go to the "Options" tab and click on "Remove" all the paired devices.
- Restart your laptop and pair your Bluetooth devices again.
Run Bluetooth Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
- Find and run the Bluetooth troubleshooter.
System Restore:
- If you suspect that a recent update has caused the issue, you can try performing a system restore to revert your system to a point where Bluetooth is working fine.
Check for Interference:
- Nearby electronic devices or wireless networks might interfere with Bluetooth signals. Try moving your laptop to a different location and see if the issue persists.
Update Windows:
- Make sure your Windows 10 installation is up-to-date. Sometimes, system updates can resolve compatibility issues with Bluetooth.
Consider External USB Bluetooth Adapter:
- If all else fails, you might consider using an external USB Bluetooth adapter as an alternative solution.
