G60-642NR notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This computer originally came with windows 7 installed.

After Windows 10 installed everything was working OK until it updated.

After that, audio was not working.

I have made numerous attempts to fix the problem utiliyzing assistance from HP and from Microsoft, to no avail.

On several occasions, I was able to regain the audio by rolling back to an earlier version, but that is no longer possible,

I have through all the steps, removing and reinstalling drivers, etc. Have done a Recovery, that didn't help either.

Hi, @Pa28flyer :

Try this workaround for that if your notebook has 4 GB of memory...

A problem with the Conexant audio means that you may hear no sound in Windows 10 even though everything appears to be working correctly.

Microsoft suggests running msconfig.exe and click on the Boot tab.

Click the Advanced options button, check the Maximum memory box, and set the value to 3072.

Then restart the PC.

@ banhien   Neither of these worked; got this message:

"Hardware detected not supported by this software. Installation will be aborted"

Win 10 64bit

I bought this with Win 8. Updated to Win 10 64bit. Have also done 2 other major updates. Each time I lost audio and Beats software. The first 2 times I was able to reload original drives and all worked well. This last update "Windows 10 Creator Update" does not allow me to use the old drivers. Get this though when trying to load the old (original drivers I get an error "these IDT drivers will not work with the HARDWARE, installation will be aborted"   I did not change hardware. It is not that they will not work with Win 10 but now all of a sudden I have the wrong software (even though it is the original)  that has worked on this machine for over 2 years. I know Apple bought Beats but why would Microsft, with an update change my .inf file or whatever to make my hardware look obsolete to the drivers. I am pissed. I am going to try and find original files that were changed pertaining to my hardware and replace them with original. Does MS have the authority to change your hardware compatibility as it pertains to other companies software and drivers?

SOLVED:  I went to MS and found a new update that adds to the latest Creator Update ver: 1703. It is  build: 15063.332.  Just run Windows Updater. After install I was able to reinstall SP63555 and have full driver functionality and Beats Control Panel.
