I have a year old 13 inch Dragonfly notebook with a solid state drive that today began sporadically making a loud buzzing sound. You know the loud buzz when someone is buzzing you in? It is like that but higher pitched and sometimes oscillates. And loud. Can be heard throughout the house. It began as I booted up the machine this morning. A loud BzzzzzZZZZZZzzz Bzzzz. You can feel it buzzing in the center of the bottom of the machine. I recorded it on my phone.
I rebooted twice with no change. I watched Task Manager and did not see anything with a corresponding fluctuation, such as CPU or memory. I saw DropBox was using a lot of resources and shut it down and the noise stopped but only for a few minutes. Sporadic. Then I noticed that Edge was using a lot of resources and shut it down and it stopped again and has mostly been quiet but still buzzes every few minutes. I do not know what could make such a noise but a speaker, but do not know if one is inside as mine are to either side of the keyboard.
I recently had to have Windows reinstalled as the keyboard and other things quit working but it has been okay for several weeks.
