Hello I've been recently having a problem of when I charge my laptop it makes a loud popping and crackling noise. I've done a lot of things to fix this problem such as uninstalling, troubleshooting, and updating the driver. Unfortunately none of these things has fix the issue and I am at my wit's end I don't understand why this started happening but it's very recent and quite annoying this is my first laptop and it's only been about 4 years and I would like to keep this laptop until I absolutely need to buy a new one. The only thing I've been doing differently that I can think of letting my computer sleep at night instead of fully turning it off for days. Any help would be appreciated.

When it is not being charged it's making a static like noise and when I uninstall the Realtek driver it stops.

Greetings @ChargeCannons

Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.

I understand that you are getting a static noise from the speakers when you connect the charger to your computer, is that right?

Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.

Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.

Have you run a diagnostics on your computer?

Have you updated the BIOS using HP Support Assistant?

Are you using the power adapter included with the computer?

Recommend you run HP Support Assistant to make sure BIOS and chipset are updated. Click here

Once they are updated, please shut down your computer.

Wait for a minute.

Turn the computer On and keep tapping F2 repeatedly to enter system diagnostics.

Run System test to make sure all the components are working fine. Click here

Also, run a component test on audio, battery and power adapter. (These options might not be there in all the models.)

Any of the tests fail, please take the computer to any authorized service center or contact our phone support team to check the service options available for your computer.

As you have mentioned that when you uninstall or disable Realtek audio driver, it could be an issue with the speakers.

Do you hear the static when you have a headphone connected to your computer?

Please try these suggestions and let me know how it goes. Will be able to guide you further.
