@Dada80119, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your laptop speakers. Let's see if we can figure out what's going on. Here are a few steps you can try:

  1. Check Volume Settings: Ensure that the volume is turned up both in Windows and on any external volume controls on your laptop.
  2. Audio Enhancements: Sometimes audio enhancements can cause issues. Go to Control Panel > Sound > Playback tab, select your speakers, click Properties, and then the Enhancements tab. Try disabling any enhancements.
  3. Driver Update: Make sure your audio drivers are up to date. You can do this by going to Device Manager, finding your audio device, right-clicking, and selecting "Update driver."
  4. Default Device: Ensure your speakers are set as the default playback device. Go to Control Panel > Sound > Playback tab, and make sure your speakers are selected as the default device.
  5. Check for Obstructions: Ensure there are no physical obstructions or debris in the speaker grills that might be affecting sound quality.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

@Max3Aj, all my setting is good, I double checked even though the sound is very low. Any other possible solution?

@Dada80119, Thank you for checking those settings and getting back to me.

Since the issue still persists despite all settings being correct, let’s try a few additional steps to isolate and resolve the issue:

Reinstall Audio Drivers Completely

Sometimes, simply updating doesn't fix corrupted drivers. Try this:

  1. Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
  3. Right-click your audio device (e.g., Realtek, Conexant, etc.) and choose Uninstall device.
  4. Check the box for Delete the driver software for this device if it appears.
  5. Restart your laptop. Windows should automatically reinstall the driver. If not, install the latest driver from the HP support page for 7LG86PA.

Check the Audio Balance and Loudness Equalization

  1. Go to Control Panel > Sound > Playback tab, right-click Speakers > Properties.
  2. Under the Levels tab, ensure both left and right audio channels are balanced and maxed.
  3. Go to the Enhancements tab and check Loudness Equalization to boost low audio.

BIOS Update

  1. Visit HP’s official support page for your product here.
  2. Enter the product number 7LG86PA#ACJ, go to BIOS, and check if there’s an update available.
  3. Download and install it carefully, following HP’s instructions.

HP Hardware Diagnostics

Run the built-in HP UEFI diagnostics to rule out hardware faults:

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Turn it back on and immediately press Esc repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears.
  • Press F2 to enter diagnostics, then run the Audio test.

Test with Headphones/External Speakers

Check whether the issue exists only on the internal speakers:

  • If external devices work fine, the internal speaker hardware may be weak or partially faulty.

If all these steps don’t resolve the issue, we might be looking at a hardware-related problem with the internal speaker module.

I hope this helps!

If my response resolves your issue, please click “Accepted Solution” to help others find the answer. Also, don’t forget to click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up” button to say thanks!

Take care and have a great day.
