Brand new x360 (9/19), Win10 with every update I could find / verify. I can run a 3480x2160 monitor OR get sound to my surround sound (SS) amp, but very very rarely both. Tried four (4) usb-c hubs, same result. New Denon AVRS940 SS amp, so lit off bluetooth and wonder of wonders, sound!! But the latency with any movie software, youtube, or any music player is a -1.5 SECONDS. Argh!!
Had just about all I can stand with this laptop. How do I either get SS and monitor running at the same time or get rid of the massive BT latency?? Both would be preferable but this X360 has been a PITA since day one so I'll take whatever help I can get.
Thanks...and Merry Christmas!!

I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.
Solution 1: Reconnecting the Bluetooth Audio Device to your Computer
One of the easiest and quickest ways to fix audio lags on your Bluetooth audio device is to reconnect it. All you need to do is unplug it from your computer, switch it back on, then reconnect it to your PC. If the audio is still lagging, you can move on to the next solution below.
Solution 2: Using the Windows Audio Playback Troubleshooter
There are many great features in Windows 10, and the built-in troubleshooters are among them. So, if you are experiencing sound lags, you can run the Windows audio playback troubleshooter. Here are the steps you need to follow:
- Go to the lower-right corner of your taskbar, then right-click the Sound icon.
- Choose Troubleshoot Sound Problems from the list.
- If prompted to provide permission to the app, click Yes. Doing this should let you run the Windows audio playback troubleshooter.
- A window will pop out. Click Next.
- Choose your Bluetooth audio device, then click Next.
- Troubleshoot the sound lag issue by following the on-screen instructions.
Solution 3: Updating your Bluetooth Driver
It is possible that you’re experiencing audio lags because you have an outdated, missing, or corrupted Bluetooth driver. So, one of the best ways to resolve the problem is by updating your drivers. There are various ways to do this. You can do it through the Device Manager:
- You need to go to your taskbar and right-click the Windows icon.

Zero progress. None. Got a laugh out of the "...unplug it from your computer, switch it back on, then reconnect it to your PC." statement. The Troubleshooting window shows "Speakers - Denon AVR-S940H Stereo" and does not realize that this is the bluetooth connection. Maybe I didn't make this clear, but I'm having the massive latency using the bluetooth in the HP Spectre X360 COMPUTER and a Denon Surround Sound amplifier. There is nothing plugged in, there are no wires or cables between them. They sit nine and one half INCHES (9.5") apart. As I stated earlier everything I'm using is brand new, yes...I checked ALL the drivers and they are the latest.
I am trying to get the latency down to something manageable because this horrible X360 will NOT "see" the Denon Surround Sound (SS) amplifier as a cabled connection if it's providing a high definition (3480x2160) video signal to the Benq UHD monitor. Unplug the Benq Monitor and plug in to another 1920x1080 monitor via an HDMI cable and I can do both - provide a signal the SS amp and provide video to the monitor on the X360. Unplug the Benq and the SS amp appears in the Sound window. Plug the Benq back in using a straight USB-C to USB-C cables or via any of my four USB-C hubs (bought out of desperation to fix this problem). Tried setting the Benq to 1920x1080 but that didn't work either.
So, is the X360 not good enough to provide a 3480 video signal and an output to a SS amp, using any (ANY) combination of four (4) usb-c hubs and several types of cables to each unit? I have spent over a month fighting this and if Best Buy will take the X360 as a trade-in or let me return it, it will be out of my life by sundown. So....what can you suggest.
