HP 15 Laptop PC Product number: 8QQ67AV
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Serial # : [edited] (https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-laptop-15t-8qq67av-1)

Ordered in California, US.

Microphone doesn't record properly. Had ordered/delivered from HP store website a month ago.

The spec lists:

HP 15 Laptop PC
Product number: 8QQ67AV
Serial # : [edited]
•Windows 10 Home 64 Plus
•HP TrueVision HD Camera+ integrated dual array digital microphone(Natural Silver)

Attached picture.

I opened the "Sound settings" control and it shows "Microphone Array" under Sound->Recordings tab. Quality is very poor as stated above.

If I enable the other option "Stereo Mix" and disable "Microphone Array", it doesn't record at all.

What to do? I bought HP laptop mainly to be able to record voice and video, but this is too big an issue to ignore. How to fix it?

Well, I won't expect microphones on notebooks would give high quality sound. I won't even use them to record sound.

Why does the "HP TrueVision HD Camera+ integrated dual array digital microphone(Natural Silver)" mic that listed in Spec not show in "sound settings"?

This can't really be a resolution to the issue. The notebook is being sold under the impression that it's a functional microphone but it's far from it. Don't expect a good one but a functional one. Anyone else come across this issue? What is the way to resolve it?
