Microphone not getting detected.. And loud, continuous blaring beep sound from speakers..

If your microphone is not being detected and you are experiencing a loud, continuous blaring beep sound from the speakers, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve these issues.

 

No Sound from Speakers

Steps to Resolve Audio Issues:

Restart the Computer:

  • Restart your computer and test the audio to see if the problem is fixed.

Run Audio Check in HP Support Assistant:

  • Download and install HP Support Assistant.
  • Open HP Support Assistant, go to the My Dashboard tab, click Fixes & Diagnostics, and then select Audio Check.
  • Click Next and wait for the audio test to complete.
  • Review the test results and follow the on-screen instructions.

Run the Sound Problems Troubleshooter:

  • Right-click the speaker icon in the notification area and select Troubleshoot sound problems.
  • Select the device to troubleshoot and click Next to start the troubleshooter.
  • Apply any recommended fixes and test for sound.

Microphone not Detected

Steps to Resolve Microphone Issues:

Check Privacy Settings:

  • Ensure that your microphone is allowed to be used by apps.
  • Go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone and turn on Allow apps to access your microphone.

Update the Audio Drivers:

  • Use Windows Update to update to the latest audio drivers available for your computer.
  • Search for Check for updates in Windows and install any available updates.
