HP Spectre x360 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have an HP Spectre x360 15" and am encountering difficulties using my microphone. I cannot get the microphone to record audio using zoom, google meets, Audio Recorder, or on various online microphone testing sites. I have

1. Checked to ensure that I have allowed access to the microphone both locally and in the settings

2. Checked for driver updates. Uninstalled and re-installed the drivers multiple times

3. Attempted to download externally the RealTek audio managing software and install from there.

4. Used HP support assistant to identify any issues. None Found

5. Used the trouble shoot feature to trouble shoot. Nothing found

6. Tested to make sure the microphone hardware registers sound within the settings. It appears to.

7. Made sure the default microphone was updated and that I did not have my camera kill switch on.

Please let me know if anyone can pinpoint the issue I am having. I did recently start using my GPU for the first time, but I cannot imagine that would somehow be connected. Otherwise, my computer is in great condition and has only been lightly used.

Thanks

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

Did this microphone issue started recently?

Try running a Microphone Test from F2 Diagnostic and let me know if that works

- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the Notebook.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Audio > Microphone

Keep me posted
