@NikhilKham, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing microphone issues with your HP Pavilion laptop. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem:

Check Microphone Settings:

  • Go to the Start menu and select Settings.
  • Click on System > Sound.
  • Under "Input", make sure your microphone is selected from the dropdown menu.
  • Check the volume level and ensure it is not muted.

Update Audio Drivers:

  • Open Device Manager from the Start menu.
  • Find the "Sound, video and game controllers" section and expand it.
  • Right-click on your audio device and select "Update driver".
  • Follow the prompts to search for updated drivers online.

Check Privacy Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone.
  • Make sure that apps can access your microphone.

Troubleshoot the Hardware:

  • Ensure there is no physical obstruction on the microphone.
  • Try using an external microphone to see if the issue persists.

Run Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
  • Select "Recording Audio" and run the troubleshooter.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
