Microphone playback is distorted when using zoom or Google hangouts

While using Google Hangout for video meeting, members reported my audio was distorted.

Joined a Zoom video Meeting and members reported the sound was coming through distorted.

Laptop is WIFI connected.

• Used Virtual Agent went through all  HP diagnostics.
• In Device Manager uninstalled the audio.
• Restarted Laptop.

• Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
• Have you made any hardware/software changes?
• Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?

• Step 1: Check the microphone hardware
• Step 2: Update the audio driver

And, also try this workaround:

• Open Control Panel.
• Open the Hardware and Sound setting.
• Open the Sound setting.
• Select the Recording tab and double-click your microphone you have selected as the default recording device.
• Click on the Level tab and reduce the Microphone Boost setting.
