LAPTOP-6404JNIN / HP Laptop 15s-fq2xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I would like to have the microphone pick up my voice when I'm not looking directly at the screen. I can be sitting in front of the laptop but talking off to the side and it doesn't pick me up. Can I change this ?

@KarlHasler

What is your HP Laptop 15s-fq2xxx  ?  xxx can be from 000aa to 999zz.  Physically microphones are next to the webcam at the top screen which are designed for people can see and hear you at the same time therefore you have to sit in front of its screen. Mic should be able to pick up your voice because I can hear a dog barks at another end(s) during a Zoom session.

Regards.

@Banhien The full model is 15s-Fq2048TU.

Thank you for your reply. On our other laptop (Lenovo) we can pick up sound from out of view of laptop (down the hallway etc), but with the laptop listed above if my mouth is not within the front on view of the camera, the cam/mic can't hear me properly - which makes it difficult when  I'm looking at another device but vid-conf on the HP laptop.

I have noticed it with others also. 2 people can be sitting side by side, but if one is slightly off centre, the mic does not pick them up. They need to lean over or have laptop swivelled towards them.
