We have HP 840 Elitebooks G11's running Windows 10 22H2
When using Bluetooth Headset, the Microphone will stop working and applications cannot find the Microphone.
Noticed in the device manager the Intel Microphone Array device will disappear and under system devices the Intel Smart Sound Technology OED has a warning as below
A reboot will bring back the microphone for a short while and then will go again
"Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
FW dump detected."
Latest Bios and Audio driver installed as recommended by HP support
Also rolled back to older drivers, still same issue
This is happening on all our G11 models

The disappearing microphone and "Code 43" error with "FW dump detected" on HP 840 G11 Elitebooks running Windows 10 22H2 likely indicates a driver/firmware conflict. Thoroughly uninstall and reinstall audio, Bluetooth drivers, and verify BIOS settings. Run HP hardware diagnostics, check power management, and ensure Windows updates are current. Consider testing with external devices to isolate hardware issues and contact Intel support for specific Intel Smart Sound Technology troubleshooting.
