I install the newest Windows, include the driver comes from HP Support. The audio playback works well, but there is a problem in microphone input.
When "HP Noise Reduction" is on, the microphone shows up and down as I talk. Surely it works fine in Setting. But Skype and Discord that take input from the microphone didn't get any audio input signal.
When "HP Noise Reduction" is off. After restarting my laptop, every program works normally with microphone input. My friend can hear my voice on Discord or Skype.
So I think there is a bug in the "HP Noise Reduction" feature. To keep the microphone and program work stable, I have to disable that feature.
I tried with a different version of Windows, also a different version of the audio driver but no use. Unless I turn "HP Noise Reduction" off, everything will be good.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Did this happen after a recent update?
- Have you checked if the microphone is not muted or greyed out?
While you respond to that, let's try these steps:
1. Run Audio Troubleshooter
- Launch Troubleshooting by typing and clicking “Troubleshooting” in Windows search.
- Click on "Playing Audio".
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
2. Check if the microphone isn't disabled.
- Right-click on the Volume icon on the taskbar, select "Recording Devices".
- Click on "Show disconnected devices", and "Show disabled devices".
- Select on Microphone, click on "Properties". If it is disabled, enable it.
- Once enabled, set Microphone as default audio input device.
3. Check if the microphone isn't muted.
- Right, Click on the Volume icon on the taskbar, select "Volume Mixer".
- On the Microphone slider, slide it up to 100%.
4. Boost sensitivity of Microphone
- Right, Click on the Volume icon on the taskbar, select "Recording".
- Double click on Microphone.
- Open the Levels Tab, move the Microphone boost slider up to check the audio.
5. Disable enhancements
- Right Click on the Volume icon on the taskbar, select "Recording“, Double
- Click on Microphone.
- Open the Enhancements / Effects Tab.
- Check "Disable All Sound / System Effects“. Click Apply, OK, test the Microphone again.
6. Change the format of the Microphone
- Right-click on the Volume icon on the taskbar, select "Recording Devices".
- Double click on Microphone.
- Go to the Advanced Tab, choose any of the 16-bit options on the list.
Uninstalling the audio drivers from Device Manager and reinstalling it from HP Recovery manager.
Next thing, I would suggest is to update the Bios, Chipset drivers from the support website.

Thanks for replying,
After installing a small update "HP Inc. SoftwareComponent - 1.19.1699.0", my problem disappeared.
I turn on "HP Reduce Reduction" and it works well as when it's off.
I will come back here if this problem happens again.
Thank you!
Edit 1: Add more info about driver I'm using.
Audio Driver Version: 6.0.8881.1
UI Version: 1.4.187.0
