My wired headphones' mic is barely audible. I've tried the 30.0db boost, it didn't change a thing. I received my laptop as FreeDos so I thought maybe I had some drivers missing or outdated- but after checking it, that doesn't seem to be the case. This problem doesn't occur on my Bluetooth headphones, so I think this has to do with my laptop headphone jack itself. It's also not a matter of broken headphones, since I've tried various wired headphones and they always show the same problem when plugged into my laptop, but not on any other device. The real question is, "Is my headphone jack physically broken, or is it a software problem?". I don't think it's physically broken since I use my laptop very gently and this problem had been present since the first day I received my laptop (around two months ago). I thought there might be debris in it so I looked at it with a flashlight but it was clean and, for what its worth, it doesn't look broken.

Many machines do not support stand alone microphone using headphones/microphone combo jack. Your machine could be on the same boat. Please use other options such as your BT microphone.
