Hi Guys
Recently purchased HP Elitebook 2560p off eBay.
Purchased and Reloaded Win7 after the original SW was "not genuine". Machine works fine except for three quirks:
1) the icon for sound at the top RH end of the keyboard is Orange which suggests that the audio system is switched OFF but I can hear audio just fine. If I press the icon button, the sound does mute but press it again and the sound comes back but the icon light stays Orange. The other two icon buttons for Wireless and Internet are white as they are supposed to be.
2) have downloaded lots of drivers BUT Device manager shows no drivers for:
i) PCI Serial Port
ii) PCI Simple Communications Controller
iii) Ethernet Controller
iv) Base System Device
v) Unknown Device
3) my Logitech speakers are recognised but while they are recognised, no sound comes out of them?
Have looked though ALL the drivers for this machine but none of the #2)i)-iv) shown.
Preferred reply address: [Personal Information Removed]
TIA

Dear David Thank you for your prompt and detailed reply. I have installed all 7 drivers and rebooted but the orange speaker light at the top RH part of the keyboard stays on although the sound seems fine??
Any ideas?
George
