The Windows 11, version 24H2 update on December 12, 2024 caused me to lose all sound on my Envy laptopl.  I spent 7 hours yesterday with Microsoft support agents.  They tried updating RealTek, BIOS and even reinstalled a previous version of Windows and nothing worked.  They sent me back to HP>

Please provide the Product ID or exact model name for better assistance. Preferably the full product ID including the characters after the # symbol. This code may be needed to find cloud recovery files.

Your audio driver is dated Feb 2022 which is old.

Possibly it is better than the one you have

If it does not work then try the latest Realtek driver

let me know which one works, if any.

Microsoft downloaded and tried the first one yesterday.  When I tryr to load the second one I get an error saying that it failed to extract archive.

I downloaded sp154952..exe; it was a large file and took a while, but I was able to extract the package

Try downloading again.

You might press ESC when powering up and run the F2 diagnostics to check memory and disk drive.
