Not sure but this could have occurred after an update of Windows. It seems the Intel High Definition Audio driver is not installed or invalid. Have tried everything to search for updates. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have a solution? Appreciate advice!

Microsoft did indeed release a patch that corrected their fiasco with audio. As a matter of fact if you look at the link now the HP document simply says run Windows Update.

Many thanks! However, it seems the problems still remain: after going through theps in the link you provided, Windows claims the proper driver is already installed (see screenshot), in spite that in another place in device manager Windows says no driver is installed and that there is no available driver.

Thanks for the input, neither solution worked, but the problem has just disappeared - was this a common problem with W10 updates and MSFT sent a silent patch....? Anyway's, nice to have speakers again 🙂
