If you can, see if you can enable Dolby Atmos.  I did and my sound crackling has stopped.  Have tried installing RealTek HD Audio Manager but it will NOT install no matter what I try (and I'm not computer illiterate by any means but I'm also not a programmer if that makes sense) but in my sound options, it gives me the choice of using Dolby or DTS - I've tried the Dolby on the free trial for now and OMG THE DIFFERENCE!!!!!!!  I have stopped the crackling and adjusted my sound to something that I can most definitely live with in a laptop.
