My audio after updating into windows 11 seems to be muffled. Like the treble has been turned all the way up. I've tried using my headphones elsewhere and they work fine. Tried connecting TWS device to my laptop and the problem is the same with the muffled audio. I tried checking the audio drivers and they seem to be up to date. But this screen has errors that I don't understand and I think this might be part of the issue? My AMD High Definition Audio Device is also not plugged in when I thought it is supposed to be a default on the computer? I am not sure. Please help. X

@aurixei, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check Playback Device Settings:

  • Right-click on the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "Sounds."
  • Go to the "Playback" tab and make sure "Realtek(R) Audio" is set as the default device.

Disable Audio Enhancements:

  • In the same "Playback" tab, select your default device and click "Properties."
  • Go to the "Enhancements" tab and check "Disable all enhancements."

Update or Reinstall Audio Drivers:

  • Open Device Manager (Win + X > Device Manager). Expand "Sound, video, and game controllers."
  • Right-click on "Realtek(R) Audio" and select "Update driver."
  • If that doesn’t work, right-click it again and select "Uninstall device," then restart your laptop.

Fix AMD Audio Device Issue:

  • In Device Manager, expand "System Devices" and look for "AMD High Definition Audio Device."
  • Right-click and select "Update driver". If the issue persists, uninstall it and restart your laptop.

Check Windows Audio Services:

  • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Scroll down to Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder.Make sure their status is "Running" and startup type is set to "Automatic."

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update and install any available updates.
