I have a new purchase headset, sadly it won't fit to my headphone jack in my laptop. What should I do?

Audio plugs generally come in three sizes: 6.35mm, 3.5mm, and 2.5mm.

 

If the plug from your headset is too large for the port on the laptop, you will have to go online to buy a plug adapter that is the same size on one end as the port on the laptop.

But my laptop had a 3.5mm jack and also my headset

You said it did not "fit" -- so if the size is the same, why does it not fit?
