I dont know why i cant add this to my profile

My laptop is making notification voices like not one but many at a time it is almost spamming. it has been only voice and nothing else the notifications doesnt pop up, i have a doubt whether it is the notification or not because after some time of this spamming i turned off the notification and also turned the donot disturb on but it doesnt make any difference. it is still haunting me

Hi @arjoxo,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP laptop is experiencing a persistent notification sound issue, which might not be directly tied to the traditional notification system, especially since turning on "Do Not Disturb" didn't help.

Here are a few potential causes and troubleshooting steps to address the issue.

Check Background Applications and System Sounds

  • Some background applications or system events (like device connections, low battery warnings, or hardware issues) might trigger these sounds.
  • Go to Settings > System > Sound and check the App volume and device preferences. See if any specific app is producing sound.
  • Alternatively, mute system sounds to see if the issue goes away.

Windows Event Viewer

  • Check Windows Event Viewer for any errors or warnings that coincide with the sound issue:
    • Right-click on the Start menu, select Event Viewer, and go to Windows Logs > System or Application. Look for recurring events around the time you hear the sounds.

Device Manager for Hardware Issues

  • Open Device Manager and check for any yellow exclamation marks or devices that might be malfunctioning. Sometimes hardware (e.g., USB devices or drivers) might trigger sounds due to connection issues.

Turn Off System Sounds

  • Go to Control Panel > Sound > Sounds tab. You can set the Sound Scheme to "No Sounds" temporarily and see if that stops the noises.

Check For Malware or Background Processes

  • Sometimes, unwanted software or malware can trigger sounds. Perform a full system scan using Windows Defender or another trusted antivirus software.

Driver Updates

  • Ensure all drivers (especially sound-related and hardware drivers) are up to date. Use Device Manager to update them, or check your HP Support Assistant for updates.

Audio Troubleshooter

  • Run the Windows audio troubleshooter:
    • Go to Settings > System > Sound > Troubleshoot to detect any potential audio problems.

Disable Cortana or Voice Services

  • Check if Cortana or any voice assistant services are causing the sound. You can disable them via Settings > Privacy > Voice activation.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
