My laptop wasn't playing any audio and a Microsoft agent asked me to uninstall realtex high def, intel aud, and nvidia aud drivers and assured me that they would be reinstalled upon restarting but it didn't. I tried to download them back from hp website but when i am trying to install it, it isn't working and says that the driver can't be installed. What am i supposed to do?

@17DP, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding No audio issue!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I know how frustrating it feels when the laptop goes completely silent, especially after uninstalling the drivers on advice. Let’s get your sound back.
First, a couple of quick checks:
Which exact HP laptop model are you using?
And which version of Windows do you have (Windows 10 or 11)?
Here are a few steps you can try right away:
Windows Update – Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates. Many times, audio drivers get pulled back in automatically from there.
Device Manager reinstall – Press Win + X → Device Manager → Sound, video and game controllers. Right-click and select Scan for hardware changes. If audio devices show up, Windows should reinstall the drivers.
HP Support Assistant – If you don’t have it, download HP Support Assistant from the HP site. It usually does a great job of fetching the right audio drivers.
Manual driver install – Make sure you’re choosing the correct driver that matches your exact laptop model and Windows version (sometimes the installer fails if it doesn’t match).
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
