Hi @Galkar,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing sound issues on your Victus by HP 16.1 Inch Gaming Laptop, even after updating drivers and not having a Realtek driver installed, you can try the following troubleshooting steps.

Check Sound Settings:

  • Ensure that your laptop's sound is not muted. Sometimes the simplest solutions work.
  • Check the sound settings in the Control Panel (Windows) or System Preferences (macOS) to make sure the correct output device is selected.

Restart Your Laptop:

  • Sometimes a simple restart can help resolve software-related sound issues.

Run Windows Troubleshooter (For Windows):

  • In Windows, there's a built-in troubleshooter that can help identify and fix common sound problems. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot, and run the "Playing Audio" troubleshooter.

Check Audio Services (For Windows):

  • Type "services.msc" into the Windows search bar and press Enter.
  • Look for services like "Windows Audio" and "Windows Audio Endpoint Builder." Make sure they're running and set to start automatically.

Update NVIDIA Audio Drivers:

  • Even if you don't have Realtek drivers, sometimes the audio is routed through graphics drivers. Make sure your NVIDIA graphics drivers are up to date.

Check Device Manager:

  • Open Device Manager and check if there are any yellow exclamation marks next to any audio-related devices. This could indicate a driver issue.

Check Sound Output:

  • Right-click on the speaker icon in the system tray (bottom-right corner of the screen) and select "Open Sound settings." Ensure the correct output device is selected.

Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers:

  • Sometimes updating the BIOS and chipset drivers can help resolve hardware-related sound issues.

Check for Physical Issues:

  • Check if the laptop's speakers are physically damaged or obstructed in any way.

Check Audio Settings in Games:

  • If you're facing sound issues specifically while gaming, check the in-game audio settings to ensure they're configured correctly.

System Restore:

  • If the issue started after a recent software installation or update, you can consider using System Restore to revert your system to a point before the problem occurred.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
