I lost all sound on my HP laptop, it's an older ENVY dv6 with Beats Audio serial #2CE2370FVR, HP Support says it's retired and no longer supported. Control panel does not recognize any audio devices. I need a driver and a way to restore sound. Please help this laptop has served me well over the years and I'm not ready to give up on it. Thank you.

Your notebook was not supported by HP for W10 and there are no W10 drivers for it.

The IDT audio not working is a common occurrence with the dv6/dv7 model series and W10.

On some dv6/dv7 models, installing this W10 IDT audio driver from a newer model notebook and restarting the PC gets the sound to work.
