I have a new HP Laptop Product number: 7MP82UA#ABA. I purchased the computer to run Band-in-a-Box (a professional music arranger software package). The PC came with Windows 10 v. 1809 installed, along with the Realtek High Definition Audio Driver 6.0.1.8597. Using Windows Update, I updated the PC to Windows 10 v. 1909. I installed Band-in-a-Box, and the sound, played through a high end instrument amplifier, was wonderful. However, when Windows Update automatically installed the new Realtek Audio Driver 6.0.8799.1, the program's sound output TOTALLY degraded. Can I safely re-install the driver meant for v 1809? And, if so, how do I halt future updates of this driver?

@River_City_Ken Welcome to HP Community!
I understand that the new audio drivers are not working properly.
You can install the old driver.
Please refer to the below link to disable the driver's update.
