HP Spectre x360 13.5 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-ef0000 (3Y842AV)

Hi there,

After installing the latest updates from Windows 11, I completely lost the Audio Device; I've tried all available solutions but in vain. I'm unable to add legacy hardware; whenever I choose a driver, the machine freezes and restarts again.

I tried to restore the previous Windows version and fix problems without resetting the PC, but nothing worked.

Any idea how to solve this problem?

Download the driver > unpack it into a folder with an unpacker like 7-Zip > in the Device Manager >Intel High Definition DSP > Update driver > Browse my computer for drivers > Browse button and select the folder with extracted files from the CAB file > OK > Next > Close
Sometimes a restart is necessary afterwards.

This is the May 2023 audio drive for your system

I'm not sure what happened. If that driver doesn't work you might be better off doing a cloudy restore

Hi BeemerBiker,

Thanks for your reply.

I've already tried this several times, but it hasn't worked!

Actually, it seems I don't have a driver issue, but more like the OS is not seeing my the sound device (sound card).

I've tried restoring the BIOS to default, but it didn't work either!

The missing driver is part of the Intel graphics driver. Alternatively, you can also search for it individually. Tell us the hardware IDs, which can be found under Details in your screenshot.

Hi Lacks,

Thanks for your reply.

I don't think it relates to the Intel graphics driver. The issue is not related to drivers at all.

It seems that the OS can't identify the sound device although it appears on Device Manager as "Intel High  Definition DSP"; but the status is:

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There are no compatible drivers for this device.

To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.

I've tried update, disable & uninstall.

Intel also has a support assistant for drivers

Yes, I suspect that this is the Intel counterpart for the AMD Audio CoProcessor.

I've also tried the Intel support, didn't work.
