Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there,

I have a HP Spectre x360 -13-4050na on Windows 10 (no longer supported by Microsoft)

Suddenly today the audio is NOT working. There is a red "X" through the speaker and it says "NO AUDIO OUTPUT DEVICE IS INSTALLED".

What have I tried:

1. The troubleshooter tells me it detected the device not working applies a fix restart and still the same problem.

2. DEVICE MANAGER: under sound, video and game controllers, there are two listed: Intel Smart Sound Technology is working but not the Realtek HW Audio Codec (yellow warning icon). There is no option to roll the drivers back (the option is grayed out).

3. Tried disabling then enabling, not resolved.

4. Tried uninstall device and checked box for software then restarting, not resolved.

5. Tried realtek codec drivers, not resolved.

6. HP diagnostics scan, not resolved.

7. Checked bios, not resolved.

8. Checked forums and other questions in this community, all links to HP pages for tests and drivers come up as error 404.

I have literally run out of options, does anyone have a solution?

Many thanks in advance

Hi:

Here are the info and exe file links to the original Realtek audio driver HP released for your notebook's model series:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp74001-74500/sp74372.html

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp74001-74500/sp74372.exe

You may want to try reinstalling the above driver.
