HP Laptop - 15-di0002tu

Hi Team,

I have updated the driver already from device manager (Intel(R) Display Audio), done with all kind of troubleshooting. and only showing cross sign on speaker icon.

Hi @Divakar4,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Windows 10 laptop is showing “No audio output device is installed” after a recent update, and the internal speakers are not working while Bluetooth audio works. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check audio device status in Device Manager
Open Device Manager and expand “Sound, video and game controllers.”
Confirm whether “Realtek Audio” or “High Definition Audio Device” is listed, not just Intel Display Audio.

Enable hidden and disabled audio devices
In Device Manager, click View > Show hidden devices.
If any audio device appears greyed out or disabled, right-click and enable it.

Roll back the audio driver
Right-click the active audio device > Properties > Driver tab.
Select Roll Back Driver if available, then restart the laptop.

Manually install the correct Realtek driver (important)
Uninstall all audio drivers from Device Manager and check “Delete the driver software for this device.”
Restart the laptop, then install the exact Realtek Audio driver for your model (not Intel Display Audio).

Check Windows Audio services
Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
Make sure “Windows Audio” and “Windows Audio Endpoint Builder” are both running and set to Automatic.

Check BIOS audio settings
Restart the laptop and press F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS.
Confirm “Internal Audio” or “Onboard Audio” is enabled, then save and exit.

Run Windows audio troubleshooter
Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
Run “Playing Audio” and apply any recommended fixes.

Check Sound settings output device
Right-click the speaker icon > Sounds > Playback tab.
If speakers appear, set them as Default; if none appear, the driver is not loading correctly.

Uninstall recent Windows update (if issue started immediately after update)
Go to Settings > Update & Security > View update history > Uninstall updates.
Remove the most recent quality update and restart.

I hope this helps.

Hi @kuroi_kenshi,
Thanks for the answer !
I have tried all the steps, but i didn't found any realtek audio driver or high defination audio device in sounds setting > playback tab. It is showing only my headset option which requires headphones to connect to hear sound.

Could you please suggest me supportive correct driver for this my device. and each process of how to download and install properly.

also tell me the process of Check BIOS audio settings.

I am only able to see intel audio speaker in device manager

Hi @Divakar4,

Thank you for the update. Since the internal speakers are not detected and only Intel Display Audio is visible, this indicates the onboard audio driver is not loading correctly after the Windows update. Please follow the steps below in order.

Confirm the exact HP laptop model
Press Windows + R, type msinfo32, and press Enter.
Note the System Model shown on the System Information screen.
This is required to install the correct HP audio driver for your device.

Check internal audio settings in BIOS
Shut down the laptop completely.
Power it on and repeatedly tap F10 to enter BIOS.
Go to Advanced, System Configuration, or Built-in Device Options.
Ensure Internal Audio / Onboard Audio is set to Enabled, then save and exit.

Remove existing audio drivers completely
Open Device Manager.
Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
Right-click Intel(R) Display Audio and select Uninstall device.
Check Delete the driver software for this device, then restart the laptop.
This clears conflicting audio components installed by Windows Update.

Show hidden audio devices
Open Device Manager again.
Click View > Show hidden devices.
Check if Realtek Audio or High Definition Audio Device appears disabled or greyed out.
If found, right-click and select Enable.

Install the correct HP audio driver manually
Go to the HP Software & Drivers page for your exact laptop model.
Download the Audio driver (Realtek / Conexant / IDT) listed for Windows 10.
Run the installer as Administrator and restart when prompted.
This restores the internal speaker functionality.

Verify Windows audio services
Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
Ensure Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder are running and set to Automatic.
Restart the services if they are already running.

I hope this helps.
