While creating/modifying a film in Adobe Premiere no sound is available on the speakers of the laptop itself.
When I use the menu Change (Bewerken), Preferences (Voorkeuren), Audiohardware, a window is displayed. This window you can change teh Default Output; this dropdown box displays Luidsprekers: (Realtik High Definition Audio (SST))(Not Working).
Of course the text "Not working" is not expected. But it is also strange that I see 2 times the same entery in the dropdown box.
The microfone dropdown box also shows "Not Working" only once.
This laptop has been working ok, probably after a MS upgrade it was wrong.
Another HP laptop has been working ok.
Remark:
I translated the menu text into english, between brackets you wil find the dutch text.

I found a kind of a solution on the forum of Adobe.
This involves the setting of the Sound input to "No input".
This cannot be a proper solution because with this solution you cannot use the sound input any more.
For now I can work.
What I noticed when I switched the sound input again to "Microfoon matrix (Realtek High Definition Audio(SST))", I got a window from Premiere stating: “De apparaat instellingen konden niet worden toegepast omdat de volgende fout is opgetreden: MME device internal error.” (the Dutch is The equipment setting could not be applied because of the following error.)
So the MME device might be wrong?
The initial problem might have been initiated by plugging my headphone into the laptop.

Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.
Is the Audio working fine with the other application?
Have you tried any troubleshooting step on your own?
1. Press Windows+X to open the menu, and choose Device Manager on it.
2. In the device manager, expand category "Audio inputs and outputs".
3. Under this category, right click on your Speakers driver and click on Uninstall.
4. You may be required to confirm the uninstallation. Check the box next to "Delete the driver software for this device" and click OK button.
5. Restart the computer.
If the issue persists, Uninstall and reinstall the Adobe Premiere.
You can also click on this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03467905 Install and run HP Support Assistant and also update the computer.
Keep me posted, how it goes!
Have a great day!
Cheers:)

Hello Raj1788,
Other program, which use the speakers, run ok and provide the expected sound in a normal way.
The pc is completly up to date.
I restarted the system several times, no succes (still no sound in premiere).
I uninstalled Premiere and installed it again, no succes.
I also used the HP support assistent, no succes.
Following your recomendations, I uninstalled the audio input and output driver software and restarted the system. No succes.
Perhaps I have to check with Adobe, I did not yet find my way into their support forum.
Cheers

I noticed an app "Bang & Olufsen Audio control"on my pc. It point to a link which points to
"C:\Program Files\Realtek\Audio\HDA\RtkNGUI64.exe" /LAUNCH_BY_STARTMENU".
I don't know whether I installed this app or whether it is comming from HP.
This app does not start automatically so it should not have any infuence.
I dare not remove it from my pc because I don't where I can find it if I want to install it again.
