HP Spectre x360 13.5 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-ef0000 (3Y838AV)

My laptop is connected to a monitor via an HP USB-C Dock G4 through a DisplayPort cable. Another laptop (EliteBook X360 1030 G2) was able to output sound to the monitor speakers through the dock, using Intel Display Audio, but this one is not. In fact, no Intel Display Audio device is showing up at all in Device Manager (even with hidden devices enabled). So it seems like an Intel display driver issue; I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Intel display drivers, but that hasn't made the device reappear.

A quick update on this: with a basic USB-C to HDMI adapter, I am able to output sound to the monitor speakers, and the HD Audio Driver for Display Audio appears.
